Walking in Galway #IrishFamine #indiewriter

I spent a day in Galway last week. My latest novel about the Irish Famine sees my main character come home to Galway and I wanted to experience what she saw. I walked under the Spanish Arch and watched the river water pour down from Lough Corrib and surge beneath Wolfe Tone Bridge, on out into Galway Bay.

The historic centre itself looks as if it was built of grey stones, from the medieval city walls to the streets and shops that run down to the Spanish Parade.
The Museum has information going back millennia and is a beautiful place to visit.
