Vintage reading.

Just started to read The Famished Road . I'm trying to diversify my reading, so bought this Vintage Classic, 25th Anniversary edition.

As you may know, Ben Okri won the Booker prize with it in 1991. I'm only on page 76 but am entranced by the writing and the characters. The imagery used on every page is stunning.

As a reader, I am pulled through each rich, dense page. I've just met Madame Koto and know she's going to be an important character.

As a writer, I read to help my own writing improve. This looks like a Masterclass in how to write.
