The heatwave has finally broken.
It's cooler this morning, and so good to walk alongside the canal.
The bridge over the water is the line for the Great Central Way, the old railway line. It's now a walking and cycling route that goes right to the centre of Leicester.
The pink pops of graffiti draw the eye to focus on the shadows beneath the bridge
that has crossed this canal for maybe one hundred and fifty years or more.
The feathery leaves and slim dark branches of the tree crossing through the frame,
suggest movement and life.
The pale grey angles of the iron bridge supports and the sky reflected in the water
combine to form a simple, natural colour palette.
