What i'm reading..

Updated: Aug 18, 2020

Nancy, my daughter bought me some books for my birthday present. The best present!

I chose Internment by Samira Ahmed and published by Atom.

It’s a book for Young Adults and anyone else. The story is set in the not too distant future and tells of Layla, a young American girl of seventeen who together with her mother and father are sent to an internment camp in the desert. The American President is a fascist and the government has enacted racist laws against anyone who is a Muslim.

This is Layla’s story of resistance and her eventual triumph over evil. It’s got a good plot and

Layla is a brilliant hero. Definitely worth reading.
